Fisheries Management Scotland has reports of around 70 captures of Pinks (Pacific) Salmon throughout the whole of Scotland to date, and its latest Advice Note can be viewed here: FMS Advice Note Aug 2017.
Pink Salmon are spawning now
Pinks spawn in July – September. Spawning activity has been seen on at least two rivers further north in Scotland.
If you see any early or unusual spawning activity in shallow gravel glides and runs on Tweed, please contact the River Tweed Commission (RTC) as soon as possible. Photos or video of the activity would also be helpful.
