Rutherford

Rutherford, River Tweed

Rutherford lies between St Boswells and Kelso, extending to 2.5 miles on the south bank and 2 miles on the north bank with 14 named pools.

There is reasonable vehicle access up and down the beat, although a four wheel drive is desirable.

From the start of the season to the beginning of September the beat can be fished by four rods.  From early September the beat is split into three sub-beats of about three-quarters of a mile in length and each fished by two rods on a morning and afternoon rotation.  Each sub-beat offers the service of a boatman.

Fishing tends to be let in the form of weekly lets or to tenants who fish every other week throughout the season.
