After a short but rough bit of weather, with quite a lift in the water, things are settling down on the River this week. The sun is shining and the autumn colours are fantastic. Now that the autumn season is well underway, and we look set for some serious fishing (and not much rain!) this week, what better time to make the most of what remains of the Tweed season?
Three dates are available to fish with The Tweed Foundation’s Auction this year. The first, a fantastic opportunity at Ladykirk this week:
Ladykirk. Two rods on Monday 1st November 2013. Guide Price £400, offers around £300 invited. The Ladykirk beat in on the north (Scottish) bank around Norham in the lower Tweed and has a five-year Salmon average of 341.
Two other dates are also on offer, later in November:
Drygrange. Two rods on Saturday 16th November 2013. Offers close to the £550 Guide are invited. Drygrange is above the Gledswood and Ravenswood fisheries between St Boswells and Melrose in middle Tweed, and the autumn colours here are particularly spectacular! Drygrange has a five-year Salmon average of 99.
West Learmouth. Two rods on Monday 25th November 2013. Offers close to the £750 Guide are invited. West Learmouth is situated on the south (English) bank of the River in lower Tweed near Coldstream, and is opposite The Lees beat. It has a five-year Salmon average of 302.
