Monday 3rd – Friday 7th November 2014: Mainly indoors all week, meetings about the budget for next year; a new counter for the Philiphaugh fish pass and about the Wild Fisheries Review report. Two outings: one to put in temperature dataloggers at the Mossburnford distillery site and a last attempt to get more fish for radio-tagging at Philiphaugh. Didn’t get any more, none jumping at the cauld either – the first week of November is the peak spawning time for Ettrick springers so any still below the cauld would have missed their chance. James regularly downloading the data from the receivers around the fish pass and the turbines and now beginning to look for the “missing” fish, those that were tagged but haven’t gone through.
As it will be mainly inside work through the winter, report writing, data processing etc., this blog will now take its annual break till Spring.
