Angling Coaching Course Success
Congratulations to the candidates who passed their SCQF level 5 Angling Support Coaching Course, held at the weekend.
Individuals from across the catchment interested in becoming a TweedStart volunteer instructor and coaching the next generation of anglers were invited to take part in the training ran by Angling Scotland and hosted by the Tweed Foundation at the Ian Gregg River Academy.
The coaching qualification has been developed to replace the previous UKCC qualifications which have now been retired and the TweedStart volunteers are the first game angling coaches in Scotland to sit the new course. Each award within the Scottish Coaching Certificate has been aligned to the Sport Scotland Effective Coaching Map. This award supports the learner to understand the needs and experience of participants and others involved in the coaching team, recognising that everyone is an individual and that coaching skills and behaviours need to be adapted to offer better support, get the most out of a learning opportunity and enjoy the sport and or physical activity.
If you would like to get involved with TweedStart or make a donation, sponsor a day - it would be great to hear from you.
