Trout Catch Records

Trout Catch Records

As part of TTGI, trout anglers fill in catch log books provided by the Tweed Foundation. This is to get an indication of how many trout are in the Tweed system, the population structure and the angling effort for any given year.

Trout anglers have been filling out catch log books as part of the current recording scheme since 2006. By recording their angling effort, how many fish they catch and the sizes of each fish, the Tweed Foundation can use this information to assess the health of the Tweed’s trout stocks. This also provides an insight into how the trout population structure changes over time, an important consideration for fisheries management.

If you fish for trout in the Tweed catchment and would consider filling in a log book then please get in touch here for a paper version or click the link below to fill in your catches online. The Tweed Foundation are always grateful for anglers who get involved.
