About Glenormiston

Glenormiston lies just above Innerleithen and consists of approximately two miles of upper Tweed fishing. The bottom of the beat marches with Traquair fishings. There are seven main pools to fish: Jawstane, Whinstream, Fawnburn, Girley, Bushes, Bridge, and Woodend Pool.

From October onwards a full-time ghillie will meet rods each morning and show them the water. After that, he will visit from time to time to give whatever help is needed, or if required, can remain with one party for casting and fishing guidance, subject to availability. There is a good hut with a gas cooker, good parking, and access to the beat from the A72 Innerleithen to Peebles Road.

The beat fishes six rods allowed which are split into two beats and rotate on an am/pm basis.

Head Gillie: Dougie McGregor
