The River Tweed Commission (RTC) has produced new versions of the Tweed Angling Codes for the 2019 season.
It is a good time for anglers to familiarise themselves with the Tweed rules before the new season gets underway. The Tweed Codes are designed so that all anglers know what is expected of them and can fish the river harmoniously. This season, the guidance on Spinning etiquette and conduct is highlighted – both in the Tweed Code, and in a separate leaflet and the RTC expects all anglers to follow that guidance.
The Tweed Spring Salmon Code has also been updated, with further information on best practice for hook removal from Springers, and the correct way in which to hold a fish that is being returned to the water.
